I was using the PCSX2 Retroarch core on the Steam Deck for a while, but apparently its egregiously outdated compared to the FlatHub version. I switched back. You should still be able to add the core libraries and info files as you had done in Windows, but you need to use the linux 64-bit cores, which are in *.so format.
Has anyone recently set up FFXI on Steam Deck? I'm taking about non-Steam version. I've tried just about every guide and had no success. If you go into the Properties and General settings and set the Game Resolution to "Native" then the PlayOnline screen will load correctly! I think the issue was resizing the window, which doesn't happen with Native. You'll need to make sure that the resolution is set properly in the FFXI config separately, but that's it!
