I shot a matthews phase 4 29 and the new hoyt vtm 34 as well. My takeaway was I didn't like the way the matthews fit my hand. It felt a little top heavy, not crazy but kind of noticeable and could've used a back bar. The vtm 34 was awesome at anchor bc it felt less scrunched up but I could literally feel my pinky shake with the shot like vibrating.

My most recent bow was a Hoyt Defiant 34 which I loved but I'm ready for an upgrade and am torn between these two great bows. I shot both and love the Hoyt's look and feel. I also like how quiet and dead the Phase 4 is as well as the bridge lock tech. The weight difference is substantial though, you will definitely notice that. That’s the biggest upgrade about that Lift that’s tremendously different then the Phase4 and V3X. It is light but so is the new Mathews. They claim it’s stronger than carbon and dampens vibration 3X better than 6061 aluminum and 20X more than carbon. 30% lighter than 6061 aluminum as well. Just seems like a hard sale and you’re really limiting your customer base.

The Phase 4 isn't sold below 60#. If you want a Matthew's at 50#, look to the Image. The riser on the Phase 4 is as long as the riser on the TRX 34. The Hoyt VTM may come in a lower poundage, idk.
